The School of Science is the home to world-class Departments of Chemistry, Life Science, Mathematics, Ocean Science and Physics. The faculty is international in background and the official language of both administration and instruction at HKUST is English.

The School of Science is inviting applications from high calibre teaching professional for the Senior Lecturer position. The successful candidate is expected to lead the School’s latest endeavour in the development of on-line science education. This e-platform for interdisciplinary science education aims to offer Mass Open Online Courses (MOOC) at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels with a long-term goal of developing online master programs to engage students and experts in science disciplines from different parts of the world.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in a science or computer science discipline with data science background, and possess substantial teaching experience in tertiary education with English as the medium of instruction. Solid experience in the design and offering of online courses or programs will be a definite advantage. The appointee is expected to formulate a comprehensive plan on curriculum development, strategic partnership for expert advice and course offering, program/course promotion and motivation of stakeholders. He/She will also be requested to develop and deliver new courses related to his/her own expertise. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits. Housing benefits will be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
