Since its establishment in 1991, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has positioned itself as an international university with emphasis on both teaching and research. Its success in higher education is driving its leadership in the development of China’s innovation-driven Greater Bay Area (GBA) with a new campus in Guangzhou (GZ), Mainland China, due to open in the Fall of 2022 admitting research postgraduate students only in the first phase of the development. With English as the medium of instruction and administration at HKUST GZ, the University is inviting applications for a Teaching-track Faculty position to lead the development of the language curriculum for research postgraduate students. Given the need for program leadership and development, senior professionals with experience in curriculum design of EAP/ESP courses at PG level are encouraged to apply. Rich experience in administration and human resource management is desirable. The appointee will initially be based at the Clearwater Bay campus, and he/she is required a move to the Guangzhou campus when it is ready for operation.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in applied linguistics or relevant disciplines, proven teaching commitment and performance, experience and readiness in administrative matters, and demonstrated service to the academic community and/or the public. The appointment will be made at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level, as appropriate to the applicant’s experience and ability. (Duration: 3 years, renewable)
