Providing engineering support across a network of fifteen (15) North American distribution centers is a focus. The global supply chain operates within a broad, distributed network, supporting 5,000+ suppliers, 200,000+ products and 350,000+ customers. Various distribution center aspects include dangerous goods, cold chain, lot control, date control and pick & pack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and implement projects; evaluate current business process, systems and work flows.
• Primary liaison between operations and WMS IT team. This includes MHE provider network access to critical operational functions.
• Oversight of WMS operational initiatives related to optimization of distribution functions: receiving, putaway, picking, packing and shipping. Security profiles to include approval of all application access and respond to external audits.
• Slotting and Sizing modeling based on data extraction from WMS for operational storage requirements and item category strategies. This includes the use of Power BI, Access, Cognos and other relational database tools.
• Oversight of the interface between WMS host and conveyor software controls including creating operational description and approval of operational requirements. Also includes testing and all go-live and commissioning activities.
• Leverage business relationships and facilitate communication with functional areas on a company-wide level with a goal of driving change throughout the network.
• Competency to handle a wide range of projects effectively and ensure project deadlines remain on schedule.
• Implement and maintain MOST engineered labor standards through distribution networks in North America to include training.
• Oversees and maintains WMS Labor Tracking applications for operations leadership reporting.
• Manages own work effort (leveraging project management competencies) to deliver solutions on-time/on-budget to exceed customer expectations. Highlights business risk and issues as necessary.
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency and storage

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university in Industrial Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in Distribution/Logistics.
• 3+ years WMS experience in Distribution to include slotting and sizing models for both startup and ongoing operations.
• Advanced analytical skills and experience with report writing including Cognos.
• Utilizes relational database skills to navigate within existing systems and develop new system tools for analysis and operational use.
• Experience with simulation software applications (ex: Simul8, Arena) and associated ROI for network initiatives.
• Ability to travel up to 50% both nationally and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as Project Management Professional PMP and have the ability to manage a variety of network capital and system related projects.
• Proven resource in defining supply chain systems strategy, requirements, design, prototype, testing, training and support procedures.
• Ability to understand needs and constraints of current supply chain and distribution center activities.
• Ability to assess issues and solutions in terms of financial impact, cost/benefit analysis revenue generators and strategic impact.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels from distribution associates to upper level management.
