Job Description

The Computing Services Centre at City University of Hong Kong manages the University's Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace Technologies, Audio Visual Technologies, and other related IT disciplines to support the University’s operations.  The Centre has about 100 staff and contractors currently. 

The CSC is looking for a technology expert with demonstrated success records.  In addition to regular duties below, the appointee will also be given freedom to exercise judgement in carrying out proof-of-concepts which benefits the University’s operations in any business disciplines, and to scale it up to mega projects after demonstrating the values.  

Duties :  

  1. Manage the Service Portfolio and Management Section which oversees the IT Service Management, Email communication, Special Projects and User Education teams;
  2. Drive project management framework and manage projects life cycle;
  3. Implement ITIL processes and perform continual service improvement;
  4. Implement software and hardware asset management;
  5. Engage business users and cultivate co-ownership of success;
  6. Drive digital transformations;
  7. Design, architect, and enforce enterprise IT architecture;
  8. Prepare monthly service report and ensure SLAs are met;
  9. Act as Change Manager to review change records and facilitate CAB meetings;
  10. Facilitate root cause analysis and keep track of corrective actions status;
  11. Accountable for managing the sectional budget, procurement, and staff planning; and
  12. Work on ad-hoc projects and perform any other duties as assigned.  

 

Requirements :  

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines, an MBA degree from a reputable Business School would be an advantage, with 15 years’ relevant experience, of with at least 8 years at managerial level;
  2. Familiar with IT Service Management and Project/Portfolio Management;
  3. Good knowledge of and hands-on experience in the followings:
    • ServiceNow ITBM/ITSM/ITOM/HAM/HSM Platform 
    • Microsoft 365 including Teams, SharePoint, and PowerBI;
  4. Excellent communication, influencing and collaborative skills;
  5. Being self-motivated and a good team leader with good problem solving skills; and
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.  

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
