The Centre is hiring a Senior Game Development Officer for the development of courses and programs that adopt game-based learning, incorporation of immersive technology, and other educational technologies to enrich students’ engagement and knowledge. The appointee works as part of the Professional Development Team of the Center, and is expected to work closely with the course instructors on how to create an active learning environment through gamification, video content, extended reality, and learning apps. The appointee is also expected to observe through the involvement in projects to identify opportunities for innovative pedagogical development at the University and contribute to other duties related to the Center.
Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science or game programming or game design or related discipline, with at least 4 years of post-degree work experience, preferably in areas related to game development. Solid knowledge of game design theory, 2D and 3D modeling, animation, experience in designing games using game engines such as Unity is a must. Experience in gamify education courses/programs is a plus. Candidates are expected to be familiar with MySQL and front-end communication with the back-end server. Experience in XR (AR, VR, or MR), HTML5/CSS, JavaScript, data analytics, and machine learning would be an advantage. They should also have good problem-solving skills, be excellent with analytical skills, have the ability to work under tight schedules, and be passionate game players as well as collaborative team players. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
