Detailed Description:

 

Based in Shanghai or Dongguan, China, the successful candidate will be a self-starter who likes to take responsibility and works best with little supervision.  Likes to perform a variety of tasks and have the ability to handle multiple priorities and has previously performed in a similar position.  This is a 'hands-on' role requiring a strong technical background and product development experience.

 

Duties

• Assist customer to understand all products and perform demo for various field applications.
• Perform to identify issue and resolve problem by coordinating with R&D & manufacturing team including field troubleshooting & performing tests on bugs.
• Analyze customer requirement and ensure product meet customer requirements appropriately, as well as to recommend expert advice for same.
• Participate in customer technical meetings and prepare training programs for internal subordinates.
• Software and hardware validation of Networking, Storage, Server products against customer’s infield issues and requirements
• System validation including DVT (Design Validation Trial), SPIT (Signal, Power, Integrity & Timing) environmental & regulatory approval.

• Sourcing of alternative functional blocks for compatibility and cost effectiveness and benchmarking of these functional blocks.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering and System Builders on Engineering issues for System level debug and root cause analysis
• End of life re-design, New vendor qualification, and Design related issues found in Manufacturing or Field
• Analysis of Speed increases to Memory, CPU and other critical system components, analyse risk vs. return for an appropriate validation schedule and cut-in date.
• Work with software teams to identify root cause of system failure
• Ability to install various Operating Systems (Linux based)

 

Person Background

Candidates should have 5 or more years' experience in Network/Server Architecture & Design. 3+ years related products’ FAE/AE experience is better.

 

Candidates should have the following essential qualifications and experience:

 

• BEng.(Hons.) in Electronics or similar
• Strong electrical design and debug skills required
• Familiar with PCI, DDR & CPU FSB signalling for Scope analysis.
• SDRAM timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, S&H, Power bounce, temp stability
• Hands-on design knowledge of latest VIA, SIS, ALI & Intel Chipsets.
• Hands-on design knowledge of latest peripheral chipsets for Gigabit Ethernet, UltraSCSI 320, USB2.0, 1394, Ethernet, IDE, & PCI cards etc
• High performance RISC / X86 CPUs and architecture inc. Intel, AMD, MRVL
• ICE, analyser and oscilloscope familiarity
• Working knowledge of the following OS, Windows, Linux
• Working knowledge of windows & Linux configuration, installation procedure, network configuration, driver configuration etc.
• Working knowledge of AMI, Phoenix or Award BIOS structure

 

• Knowledge of the following would be desirable:
• Experience of working in medium sized multidisciplinary development teams
• Networking, Ethernet, Switches, LAN config, Server admin, MSCE level.
• Orcad Schematics & Allegro PCB layout tools
