In this role, you will be responsible for developing, contributing to and executing on the communications strategies led by the Life Sciences Solutions Communications team which focuses on connecting employees to the company Mission, the business and each other.

As a well-rounded and experienced communications professional, you will bring your leadership in executive communications, change management, story-telling, content development and communications strategic planning to reach both internal and external audiences using appropriate channels and tactics.

In addition to being an integral member of the Life Sciences Solutions Communications team, you will partner with specific businesses or functions to proactively develop tailored messaging and narratives, serve as the strategic communications advisor and ensure the right information is shared with internal and external stakeholders through a formal communications strategy and plan.

Essential Duties

  • Creating, implementing and measuring success of the communications strategies that drive engagement among employees, connecting employees to the company Mission, the business and each other.
  • Serve as a key communications member on a variety of business-agnostic communications programs and initiatives throughout the year.
  • Contribute to the quarterly financial communications cycle and all team-level initiatives and assignment, sharing knowledge of the businesses and functions supported.
  • Provide executive-level internal communications support for senior leadership, including developing and executing a strategy for cascading leadership messages to the right audiences at the right times, and establishing a consistent and effective platform for communicating to global audiences throughout the year.
  • Critical involvement in sourcing and developing inspirational stories using a variety of tactics (articles, videos, etc.), and disseminating them throughout the company to inspire and engage employees.
  • Partner with HR and the change management communications function on internal change communications initiatives, including developing business level key messages, talking points, FAQs and other materials to support change.
  • Serve as a liaison with other communication team members across the company in order to provide a connection to teams, functions and technologies within the stakeholder groups you support.
  • Partner with HR, site leadership and other stakeholders in supporting and strengthening employee engagement within the businesses or functions you support.
  • Manage internal communications channels and platforms (email, intranet sites, enterprise social media channels, video streaming, etc.)
  • Develop slides and talking points for town halls, sales meetings and other significant internal events and activities.
  • Project manage various other internal or external communication initiatives as needed.
  • Support PR efforts by working closely with the Director of Public Relations.
  • Support crisis communication as needed.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 7-10 years progressive experience in corporate communications, internal communications or public relations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
  • Expert writer, editor and communicator with the ability to create channel specific content.
  • Strong verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Combination of strategic and creative thinker and hands-on tactician.
  • Ability to make sense of multiple inputs to arrive at the best product.
  • Business knowledge and intellectual curiosity to learn about complex business strategies, competitive landscape and scientific technologies.
  • Not afraid to seek answers and develop solutions.
  • An interest in science or the life sciences not required, but could be helpful.
  • Team player, working toward the greater good of the organization.
  • Knowledge of how to work as a cohesive team driven by trust, transparency and accountability.
  • Process driven, yet creative.
  • Focused, detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives in a complex environment with the ability to keep multiple balls in the air, and the know-how to focus on the most important initiatives at any given moment.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
