Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by defining and executing comprehensive purchasing services to support global/regional manufacturing, distribution channels, markets and business units. Implements global/regional purchasing strategies. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Develops and executes plans, schedules and task lists of procurement activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Identifies critical path items, manages project progress and milestones, and communicates status to appropriate parties.
- Develops and executes strategic procurement activities, such as sourcing, negotiations, contracting, auditing, claims, internal and external process and procedure development, and training. Identifies, establishes and develops strategic relationships with suppliers. Monitors on-time delivery levels, communicates quality issues, manages requests for information, and oversees payment resolution.
- Establishes and manages strong relationships with suppliers, other functional team members and MBU operations partners. Manages communications around Purchasing issues. Serves on cross-functional teams to represent Purchasing on major projects and processes. Initiates the development of team goals and ensures alignment of project and process goals with Company and business unit objectives.
- Makes recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve quality. Recommends profit and process improvement initiatives for products, projects and programs. Collects, analyzes and summarizes measurement data, and creates reports.
- Provides technical or product expertise to suppliers, internal customers and MBU operations partners regarding commodities, products or services, stores local sourcing initiatives and ensures a cost-effective procurement approach. May advise or support budgeting process

- Cost management, including cost reduction or budget management 5 years
- Good furniture and equipment purchasing background 5 years
- Supplier qualification and negotiation 5 years
- Good project management skill 3 years
- Fluent English
