RWS Regulated Industries division:  provides a full suite of language services exclusively for highly regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial services, and Legal industries. This includes language solutions for clinical trial management and linguistic validation of Clinical Outcomes Assessments (COAs), insurance, retail, commercial and investment banking, compliance, mergers & acquisitions, and Litigation

 

About The Role:

Under the general supervision of the Vice President NASA, the Senior Business Development Manager (Snr BDM) is responsible for actively seeking, pursuing, solidifying, and growing new client relationships.  This is a senior position that serves as an integral part of the sales team focusing on achieving high revenue enterprise client success through innovation and skilled sales professionalism.  The Senior Business Development Manager may provide guidance and mentoring to team members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and closes high level pursuits involving the “C-Level”/executive level, Business Unit Heads at prospect organizations.
  • Captures, closes, and delivers multi-year, high revenue programs.
  • Effectively manages multiple, “high-touch” prospects over a global territory.
  • Develops and effectively applies a thorough understanding of RWS Life Sciences goals, services, clients, and processes in the identification and solicitation of prospective clients.
  • Researches, targets and successfully wins contracts for strategic client accounts in order to meet or exceed new logo revenue targets.
  • Manages and achieves personal revenue and general profit margin targets for new client accounts.
  • Understands and accurately tracks sales forecast and pipeline on a daily basis ensuring results are accounted for in the sales reporting system.
  • In cooperation with the RFP Manager, participates in competitive bidding events (e.g., RFPs) by assisting in the preparation of responses and planning and participating in bid defense meeting.
  • Prepares and presents services and solutions to prospective clients within the scope of growth strategies.
  • Schedules and actively participates in client visits for the purpose of developing new relationships and expanding RWS Life Sciences client base.
  • Ensures a successful transition of won opportunities resulting from sales activities to account management and production operations, and to acts as a liaison and advocate for account management and production operations during any new client onboarding process.
  • Attends industry trade shows as requested to promote RWS Life Sciences’ capabilities, enhance knowledge of the industry and remain current on trends, and present thought leadership sessions if required.
  • Engages in research for the purpose of expanding personal and organizational knowledge of industry trends, best practices, marketing, and sales.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Department or other Company goals and objectives.

  • Ability to determine root cause analysis.

Requirements:

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Language, or other related field.
  • Successful outside sales experience within translation/localization or
  • Pharmaceutical/life science industries; minimum four years’ experience including demonstrated capability to deliver multi-year, high revenue programs.
  • Minimum five years successful sales experience developing relationships with executive level representatives.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently achieving or exceeding sales quota assignment and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Demonstrated successful development and implementation of complex enterprise account strategies.
  • Demonstrated excellent client relations, interpersonal and communication skills.

Travel requirements

  • Approximately 30% on the road/overnight travel per year.  Ability to work independently and effectively from various office locations
