Oracle Data Cloud is looking for a talented, smart Software Engineer to join our growing team in Tel Aviv.

This position is unique: you will be required to not only be an engineer but also a visionary at heart, with the mandate and authority to decide on how to execute on a product's vision - from designing the architecture, through the choice of technologies, to prioritization of work and development of the system.

 

The position entails research, design, development and ownership of data driven products under the ODC product, building batch systems that process billions of events a day, microservices and building ML & Data infrastructures while working closely with Data Science teams.   

We are working with leading edge open source technologies, like K8s, Docker, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, CI\CD frameworks, Python and batch processing & Big data frameworks such as Spark, Airflow, Databand. We strive to use the latest tools and technologies.

We are looking for a proactive and autonomous person that can identify a path forward and execute on it, and has both a passion for hands on development of distributed systems as well as loves solving complex problems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities

• Design the architecture of new products, microservices, ML & Data infrastructures
• Take ownership on projects and work closely with data science teams
• Choose the right technologies for the mission
• Develop, test and deploy and fully own the end to end cycle
• Design & adapt code to be scalable to process several petabytes of data

Requirements

•  5+ years of industry experience in similar positions
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience in building microservices, object oriented design and databases
• Experience in using deployment & CI/CD tools such as AWS, K8s, Docker, Jenkins
• Experience with modern & high level programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, Scala
• Curiosity with a willingness to experiment & learn

Nice to have

• Experience working with Big Data technologies & Data pipelines such as spark, Hadoop, Airflow
• Experience working with Data Science teams

Location: Azrieli Center, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
