Job Description
Manages groups of Application Developers. Coordinates day-to-day activities of applications developers in the creation, revision, testing, and debugging of programs used by departments within the business. Evaluates systems needs of departments and architect’s IT solutions to optimize business processes. Works directly with business sponsors, key users and IT management to maximize service delivery while balancing current support priorities and other in-process development projects. The employee may code, review, test and debug programs in addition to supervising development by subordinate staff. Prepares necessary documentation. Essential Functions: May direct the work efforts of other managers, supervisors, senior technical resources and/or project managers. Skills and Abilities Required: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, software engineers and cross functional teams to resolve complex issues and come up with and implement recommendations to improve software and process designs and performance. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer-related activities in an organization. Education and Experience Requirement: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and twelve or more (12+) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in software engineering, required. Progressive Management experience, required. Master’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and six or more (6+) years of experience in software engineering, preferred.
