Responsibility
In a context of fast growth - geographical expansion, new offers launched, internal and/or
external growth - you will join the marketing team whose mission is to raise and grow their brand
awareness on the Chinese, American, British and French markets. Your role will be to adapt the
marketing and PR strategy to the Chinese context, and to conduct all marketing and PR
activities in the region in order to help them emerge as a major, premium partner for brands willing
to excel in the digital age. Your actions will target a variety of groups including prospects,
customers, journalists and influencers, candidates, employees and competitors.
You will work closely with the Managing Director for China and the Marketing team based in
Paris to whom you will report.
Your tasks and objectives may include the following:
- PR & communication activities in China, either directly or by coordinating potential partners (PR
agency, etc.)
- Manage the cpmpany’s digital presence on Chinese platforms (paid and owned): WeChat, Weibo,
Baidu, Zhihu, corporate website ( www.fifty-five.cn ).
- Execute the PR action plan, build a planning taking into account the major events that relate to our business to time our actions
- Identify industry events in the brandtech and start-up scene, where the company could get involved as a speaker and/or a sponsor, coordinate speaking opportunities
- Produce PR material: write or validate press releases, articles, newsletters, etc.
- Coordinate the translation of existing marketing material into Chinese, provide support
for marketing content creation (research on topics such as DMP, legal context, etc.)
- Identify reference industry awards and competitions, and prepare applications
- Identify new communications channels if relevant.
- Marketing - Find ways to help the teams win new customers and build lasting relationships with
existing customers:
- Adapt or produce marketing material to present company and our offers, such as case studies,
client stories, studies, white papers, videos, and other form of sales material, etc. If and when relevant, design specific formats for China
- Coordinate content production and publication on the Tea House platform
- Ensure accessibility of content in China in spite of the firewall
- Coordinate the production of content by the Chinese teams
- Manage and update the platform and WeChat dedicated account
- Grow the audience, provide feedback to improve the platform
- Keep abreast of the industry and competitors’ news - data marketing, brandtech,analytics, digital transformation, machine learning & artificial intelligence, digital advertising…
- Organise events to support sales and grow brand awareness among prospects and clients, monitor and follow up on leads
- Establish partnership with China university programs and other forums (academic or not)
identified by the team to attract candidates and grow brand awareness among young
graduates
- Branding & positioning - Raise and/or strengthen awareness around the brand in China both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Identify relevant influencers, find ways to get in touch with them and build a sustainable
relationship with them, such as joining or building think tanks, networks, clubs, events,etc.
- Participate in the local adaptation of the graphic identity of the 55 brand if needed. Find and manage partners to produce communication assets in accordance with this identity.
- You will also be in charge of ensuring a smooth communication and efficient collaboration with
the Paris-based marketing team.
Education & Experience
- Curious, autonomous, versatile. You like to do different things not only with your brain,
but also with your hands. You are well organised and comfortable with dealing with
multiple projects at the same time. You are deeply interested in learning how the digital
and advertising industry works, and keen on doing things.
- Analytical, rigorous and creative. You have a real knack for communicating, you love to
play with the nuances of words and writing in general, you always pay attention to the
smallest details. You also have a graphic eye for symmetry and harmony.
Education and experience
- University Master’s degree (Business, Digital, Literature, Languages, Journalism,
Arts, etc.) or self taught with valuable experience relevant for the position
- 2-4 year experience in either
- marketing, communication and/or branding, B2C or B2B
- digital and creative industry or start-up with a strong digital culture
Skills and competencies
- Fluent Mandarin and English - both written and oral. French is a plus
- Excellent writing and copywriting skills - context & register analysis, discourse
structure, synthesis, etc.
- Experience with analytics, SEA, social advertising, community management,design and emailing software. Notions in HTML/CSS and other developing languages is a plus
