The System Engineer Network Support position is a technical resource responsible for supporting all IP network services and applications. This position strives to improve customer satisfaction by developing tools, processes and expertise to proactively detect service degradation in the network and restore quality service.
Provides technical support and problem resolution for IP network services and applications issues
Performs troubleshooting, issue isolation and corrective action to restore service to customers and trading partners
Provides 8X7 on-call pager support
Participates in cross-functional meetings for incident investigation
Reviews reports and key network health indicators to identify exception conditions; takes corrective action to resolve issue
Interacts with other departments to resolve troubles or issues
Addresses issues and trouble reports based on priority assigned and severity or urgency of issue
Provides Technical support to internal and external customers.
Works closely with customer’s technical resources to resolve issues
Knowledge Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Analytical and problem solving skills
Additional requirements:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP or CCIE) and/or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA)
Knowledge of IP Networking Protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
Knowledge of Internet network technologies (DNS, Firewall, SSH, HTTP)
Knowledge of routers and router administration (Cisco and Juniper)
Knowledge of LAN and WAN switching components (LAN switches, Access Nodes)
Experience Requirements
2+ years experience working for a Telecommunications Service provider in similar field
2+ years experience working in support environment
3+ years Telecommunication Industry Technical experience
