Purpose of the position

This role will be involved in the development and maintenance of our Single View of the Customer (SVC) database.  The role will be critical to ensure BSI has the best possible and most accurate data to help drive key business analytics and strategic decisions.

This position comes with a 10% Bonus

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Supporting the maintenance, update and development of our SQL Single View of the Customer (SCV) database to accommodate constantly changing business needs. This includes combining all customer and prospect transactions, at contact, site and company level
  • Integrating third party data sources with BSI’s own
  • Develop, maintain, update and improve SSAS cubes including data mining capabilities.
  • Collaborate on engagement with all countries / streams / sectors / business functions to provide functional self-serve data sources that will enable them to gain insight and make data driven decisions by allowing them interrogate their data and gain answers to business / strategic questions
  • Integrate data and reporting capabilities with frontline systems (e.g. Salesforce, marketing automation, SAP)
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence team, to leverage best data available to generate insights and to deliver results from modelling / analytics via the most appropriate channels to enable the business to access and use the data effectively whilst ensuring that results can be tracked and monitored
  • Collaborate with the Data team, advising the rest of the team and relevant stakeholders across BSI on best data to use to inform different business decisions and purposes, providing the data as appropriate and suggesting new data uses based on data analysis and findings.
  • Manage user setup / access rights to reporting tools and data feeds, ensuring that they comply with data governance polices
  • Input into documentation of data processing definitions
  • Collaborate on preparation and maintenance of system data dictionary’s
  • Create and maintain complex SQL queries to extract data efficiently from relational databases. Optimizing existing queries for improved performance
  • Identify critical data not currently available for extraction and offer potential solutions

About You

To be successful in this role you will need excellent EDQ, MS SQL RDBMS, SSAS skills, including creating and maintaining stored procedures and tables.  Proven technical expertise regarding database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques and strong data and business analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of business needs and how to translate them into requirements for best practices and incorporate them into technical solutions.  

You will also need to be able to appreciate the wider flow of data and data lifecycle, and how your own role relates to other roles and to the overall business and have strong problem solving skills
