THE JOB 

Reporting to the Senior Sport Dietitian / Sport Nutritionist, the Sport Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

• To assess nutritional status of athletes food diaries, provide nutrition consultation to athletes and on-field sports nutrition support if necessary;
• To analyse and make recommendations to the athlete’s food provision;
• To assist in biochemical testing and other duties in the laboratory;
• To assist in research projects;
• To perform statistical analysis on test data;
• To design and conduct nutrition education workshops;
• To assist in day to day operations in the Sport Nutrition Monitoring Centre;
• To supervise junior staff; and
• To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A university degree in nutrition science, dietetics, sport science or other related disciplines;
• A minimum of two years relevant experience preferably with elite athletes;
• Good interpersonal and planning skills;
• Be able to work irregular hours and perform under pressure;
• Have good command of both English and Chinese. The ability to speak Putonghua is a definite advantage; and
  
• Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong.
