THE JOB
Reporting to the Senior Sport Biomechanics Officer of the Sport Biomechanics and Technology Center, the Sport Biomechanics Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conduct various biomechanics testing and performance analysis for elite athletes;
- Film both individual and team performance;
- Process and analyse the data generated from the motion analysis systems and kinetic measurement systems;
- Provide skill monitoring with qualitative and/or quantitative real-time feedback to the athletes;
- Build performance profiles using Sportscode/Dartfish databasing and statistical reporting techniques
- Assist data interpretation, report writing and provide key analysis information on the performances to assist both the player and coach feedback processes;
- May work extended hours, and weekends as required, including overseas support to elite sport teams; and
- Assist in research projects;
- To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree holder in Sports Science / Physical Education / Biomedical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent;
- A minimum of two years’ relevant working experience;
- Good Interpersonal and planning skills;
- Experience in using motion analysis system such as Vicon, SportsCode and Dartfish preferred;
- Able to use Labview, Matlab, and Excel VBA, Statistical software to process collected data will be an added advantage;;
- Able to work irregular hours and perform under pressure; and
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, Ability to speak Putonghua; and
- Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
