Job Description & Responsibilities
- PwC Pharma & Life Science (P&LS) Consulting delivers broad range of services through an integrated, collaborative approach between our practitioners, clients and alliances. We have built our practice around senior practitioners who have significant years of industry experience gained both directly in industry and in advising a wide range on major MNC and Chinese clients.
- Globally PwC is recognized as a leading advisor across the sector, including major corporations, governments and regulators. We regularly provide thought leading papers and presentations across the industry, widely recognized for influencing the direction the industry has taken in recent years. Our aim is to drive this success into the market in China/HK, leveraging our global strength to build a market leading position.

- Many P&LS organizations are faced with the promise of great discoveries and the challenges of market fluctuations and increasing regulation. Our professionals serve a distinct group of clients that are involved in the discovery, development, manufacturing and sale of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices. We cover both MNCs and China SOEs, backed up by a targeted approach to the market. - PwC's P&LS Consulting Practice delivers the complete package from strategy to implementation to address its clients' most pressing business issues. While remaining flexible to the different needs of each client, the use of these tools and processes has helped to accelerate results and confirm that projects run smoothly.
- Although we have a distinct go-to-market team dedicated to Health, the P&LS and Health teams frequently work jointly to develop propositions for the market and delivering projects for our clients. Both Heath and P&LS are designated key priorities in the current 5 Year plan, and we place equal importance on both to reflect this priority. We see the skills and experience across the sectors and interchangeable to reflect the needs of our clients.
- Our Life Sciences Sales and Marketing Consulting Solutions focus on five key areas that help organizations transform their approach to producing results: commercial transformation, marketing strategy and operations, product launches, innovation, and sales force management.
- Candidates are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
- Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
- Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
- Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
- Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
- People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices

Reporting structure & key relationships
- Hiring Partner: Health/Pharma consulting lead partner
- Lead a group of 3-10 people on project basis
- Point of contact to maintain key client relationship
Requirements
- A bachelor/Master/Ph.D degree in pharmaceutical, life sciences and medicine, MBA background would be a plus; Minimum ten years’ working experiences, of which 8 years with MNC pharmaceutical/ medical device companies in the commercial and/or operations and/or compliance function (e.g. sales and marketing, channel management, supply chain, internal audit) and in a management role;
- Three to five years’ consulting experiences (either an internal consultant or an external consultant);
- Possess good understanding of regulatory requirements/regulatory trends in the pharmaceutical industry (Chinese healthcare reform, GMP, GSP…etc);
- Effective leadership and management skills with a proven ability to mobilize and energize project teams to deliver results;
- Solid financial acumen, business analysis and diagnosis skills;
- Strong executive level relationship building skills;
- Ability to create and deliver high-impact communications to senior audiences (written and oral in both Chinese and English) and facilitate complex discussions; and
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
