The postholder will be responsible for teaching through production environment and theoretical classes, conducting practice-as-research works and supervising students in research and productions. The appointee will also work with Head of Media Design and Technology in curriculum planning, course development, as well as research in emerging technologies and developing digital strategies.
Applicants should hold a degree in sound (preferably a master’s degree) or related disciplines and be able to demonstrate exceptional professional experience. Tertiary teaching experience (preferably in a conservatoire context), and a substantial portfolio of professional practice. Research in the relevant subject areas are also highly desirable.
Applicants should also be able to demonstrate:
(a)Significant and proven professional experience in the postholder’s area of specialism, with a primary focus in one or more of the followings:

• Sound design for contemporary theatre;
• Sound for immersive media;
• Sound engineering;
• Music production/ engineering;
• Sound-based digital media art.

(b)Substantial teaching experience in a Performing Arts conservatoire context, including but not limited to, areas of sound design, sound reinforcement, acoustic technology and sound mixing;
(c)Experience in curriculum design, writing and implementation according to established quality assurance frameworks;
(d)A good understanding of developments of the postholder’s area of specialism and active engagement with the regional industry sector(s);
(e)Fluency in spoken and written English.
