As a Robotics IS Operations Manager you will be responsible for Improve and harmonize business operations through effective management of local Robotics IS/IT infrastructure and applications in close collaboration with internal customers, team members, global and local IS teams and external partners, in Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China, eensuring stable and secure IS operations for Robotics in China

Reporting to the IS Engagement Manager, you will manage the quality of infrastructure services in scope by regularly monitoring the SLAs, driving the improvement actions whenever needed.

Your responsibilities

• Governing the infrastructure and applications in scope to provide transparency, facilitate prioritization and drive decisions with stakeholders
• Driving the project to design and implement IS infrastructure for new Robotics factory in Shanghai and look after its stable operations once it goes live. Making sure the designed architecture is resilient, secure and operation processes are clear and simplified.
• Supporting business during IS Incidents, escalation, providing updates, consulting, helping in implementing local backup solution, document, follow up on the RCA
• Collaborating with local Business Counterparts to map business process demand to existing or new IS solutions. Supporting the installation / management / maintenance / optimization of internal IS and cross-functional processes related to IS Service delivery or IS Service demand in relevant area of responsibility
• Ensuring that the application and infrastructure services being provided to customers are aligned to the customers’ needs. Managing the quality of infrastructure services in scope by regularly monitoring the SLAs, drive the improvement actions whenever needed
• Working with Head of Business IS and other IS leaders to develop overall IT strategy including an Infrastructure Architecture as Application Roadmap in the context of the business strategy and in alignment with overall ABB IS Strategy.
• Ensuring that Infrastructure and Applications Services processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate policies and applicable standards
• Driving standardization and harmonization of applications and systems, delivering high quality IT services, and contributing to business value generation through reliable and innovative infrastructure/ application services. Managing relationships with vendors (business specific and corporate) and service providers incl. external, internal IS GBS and Corporate IS to ensure effective cost-to-serve

Your background

• A Master’s degree with 5+ years IT experience with designing, deploying and managing IS infrastructure and application services
• Experience with manufacturing, production related infrastructure/applications, smart factory concept, digitalization is a plus
• Business focus, strong analytical, problem definition and resolution skills. ITIL knowledge is a plus
• Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and accomplish task, commitment to excellence
• Previous experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment
• Fluency in spoken and written English
