As a R&D Engineer- Software, you will be responsible to contribute to design and development of embedded software in ABB robot systems. These systems are used for communication, control, sensing and interaction with human in industrial environment in Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area, in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, you will be fully integrated into agile development process. Your role and responsibilities are defined by both needs in your expertise and the team backlog according to business priorities.

Your responsibilities

• Writing well structured, testable, efficient, and maintainable code
• Building platform (embedded Linux, VxWorks) for robot control system
• Supporting robot application software development
• Boarding startup, hardware validation and full system integration
• Analyzing and enhancing efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources
• Developing software tests and continuous integration
• Documenting software design and products

Your background

• 3+ years of experience in software/firmware development and 2+ years of experience in Embedded Linux
• Experience in developing device drivers and excellent C/C++ coding skills and strong build, debug, and test skills
• Fluency in professional English communication
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, or equivalent degree with necessary expertise in the mentioned areas
• Must have problem solving ability, time management and teamwork skills and a positive attitude to work, engagement in the tasks and result-orientated
• Experience with RTOS/VxWorks or bare-metal embedded development and Xilinx Zynq/Ultrascale+
• Sound Knowledge of industry robot system and python
