  • Checks his documents (planning instruction sheet, certificates, lifting plan, etc.), makes sure he understand and is able to apply these.
  • Marks the assembly area and the hoisting area.
  • Makes the assembly area free of obstacles.
  • Checks the crane parts for eventual damages before unloading.
  • Correctly (un)loads crane parts from/on its transport.
  • (dis)assembles the crane in an efficient way
  • Controls all crane parts, safety pins, safety switches, cylinders, etc when assembling the crane.
  • Correctly slings simple ànd complex loads, using the correct slinging material.
  • Applies the safety rules (site ànd Sarens safety rules) and passes them on to co-workers, clients and suppliers.
  • Acts as an ambassador for the Sarens Company
  • Keeps his material neat.
  • Greases and oils the material as described.
  • Performs visual checks and inspections.
  • Reports damages.
  • Fills in and passes maintenance checklists.
  • Manages and maintains the rigging material.
  • Able to (dis)assembly cranes conform the instructions.
  • Performs a site inspection of assembling/lifting area. Considers ground pressures on the area terrain.
  • Performs visual checks and inspections
  • Correctly fills in his worksheet & gets it signed by the client. Passes them on weekly.
  • Regularly checks material and eventual ‘accessories’ (oil level, fuel level, first aid kid, fire extinguisher, walkie talkies, etc).
  • Reports the work on site and possible extra works.
  • Keeps or attends a start of work meeting with client/colleagues/subcontractor so that everyone is aware what is going to be done, who is the hoisting leader, what safety aspects has to be followed around the crane (especially within the lifting area) etc.
  • Secondary school (EQF level 3 or 4) in a technical education or equivalent by experience
  • Basic knowledge on crane capacities:
  • Knows the influence of the position of a crane on the lifting capacity.
  • Able to make a good estimation of the load.
  • > 3 years’ experience in rigging crew.
  • Basic English (speaking, understanding, reading)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics.
  • Able to use e-mail and internet.
  • Able to correctly sling a complex load.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics.
