Restaurant & Bar Manager

With 200 bedrooms and a 90 seat restaurant; with street frontage along a busy Wellington street, Ibis Wellington is looking for someone who with a “hands on” approach who can take responsibility for this busy restaurant.

This role is for someone who has an absolute passion for Food and Beverage and can excite that passion in their team members through training, and leadership

What you will be doing:

• Lead, mentor and train the Food & Beverage Operations team
• Ensure Food & Beverage relevant brand standards are maintained
• Strategize on new products and service offerings
• Create unforgettable experiences for our guests
• Be visible and hands on at all times
• Lead innovation and creative ideas within your team and the restaurant
• Maximising all revenue opportunities and drive promotions with preferred suppliers
• Conduct training and development of staff
• Drive the passion for achieving targets through average spends
• Tailor our service to the individual needs of the customer, be a key Heartist driver.
• Arrange, Attend and actively participate in Rev Max, HOD & Food and Beverage meetings. respecting the confidentiality of issues, which may be discussed formally or informally.
• Manage the service of food and beverage within the restaurant / bar and room service and, where required outside catering.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of outlets, work areas, tableware, utensils and other materials and equipment used by restaurant / bar and room service.
• Coordinate between restaurant & bar and other relevant departments to ensure that preparations for restaurant & bar and room service have been made.
• Assist in the preparation monthly restaurant / bar reports, commenting on key performance indicators and action taken to keep on target;
• Management and guidance of outlet staff under control, namely Restaurant Supervisors;
• Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts for restaurant & bar and room service;
• Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson
• Strive to implement the Accor Asia Pacific Service Vision and demonstrate active use of the Accor Values.

Your experience and skills include:

• Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
• Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
• Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills
• Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
• Ability to manage and exceed F & B financial performance targets
• Enjoy being innovative and creative with a Passion for dining.
• Ability to demonstrate great organisational and management skills
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Must have a supportive/hands on work style
