Functions under limited direction of Consulting Resource Planning Head, the Senior Resource Planner is responsible for effectively staffing resource requests based on client specific needs, resource skill set/goals, resource availability, resource level (i.e. manager, senior, or associate consultant), and geographical location. The Senior Resource Planner will work to ensure resources are staffed on-time and in alignment with the goals of the resource and resource request.
In addition, the Senior Resource Planner is responsible for the daily management of Resource Planning processes. This includes maintaining the staffing planning process, maintaining the resource scheduling/tracking system, and preparing Planning reports.
This role provides support to the Managers and Directors of Consulting Resource Planning and may have limited supervisory responsibilities.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with KPIs for Resource Management processes and the Resource Management staffing Planning tool
- Assisting with process revisions/enhancements based on business changes, tool changes, team changes, etc.
- Fielding staffing requests/requirements from project managers and practice leads via phone, email, and staffing tool
- Conducting research/resume/skills searches to identify potential resources options based on client specific needs, resource availability, skills required, level/rate required, and geographical location
- Proposing identified and qualified resource options to project manager and/or practice lead for approval and final confirmation
- Becoming sought after as the “trusted advisor” and “go-to” for all staffing decisions within the product area or business unit
- Collaborating with business unit/practice managers to qualify resource options for open resource requests.

Providing resource planning coverage for other product areas or business units
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Three to Five years prior work experience preferably in a consulting or professional services firm with experience ideally in staffing and/or recruiting
- Proficient in using specialized scheduling tools and other Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, and Project
- Expert understanding of the policies of a professional services firm
- Expert understanding of various industries needed to successfully assist in the assessment and preparation resources for projects in those industries.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of team and execute across multiple assignments/people and tasks
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. High Initiative, flexibility, and adaptability are also skills critical for success
