Position Summary
Metso is looking for a Remote Support Manager to join our Digital Office functions in Changsha, China.
We are developing digital services function for Metso’s mining processes and equipment our Digital Office. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the remote technical support team. Your main responsibilities include establishing the team in Chile that will monitor and improve remotely the condition and performance of Metso manufactured equipment as well as process performance. You will tie the work of the team with the rest of Metso’s organizations to be able to provide effective and fast responses to our customers.
As a member of the global digital services team which is being set up, and through collaboration with service businesses, you will participate in the development of digital services and processes. Metso development team will enhance our existing IoT platform and data & analytics platform based on the feedback from the digital services team, Metso businesses and customers.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and managing the remote support team and tying it with the rest of Metso’s organization
- Improving the local and global ways-of-working within Metso to increase responsiveness and effectiveness of our services
- Making sure that the provided tools and systems are good for purpose and benefit the team
- Communicating the findings to customers and Metso services and following-up until the issues have been solved.
- Analyzing data from the comminution process to discover events or signs that may lead to breakdowns or lower performance.
- Collaborating with Metso’s technical support and R&D to find out the root cause and solution if the issues cannot be solved locally.
- Making sure that the events, their causes and solutions are documented
- Providing feedback on the analytics and tools to the Digital Office development team
Qualifications
- Previous managing experience
- In-depth understanding of minerals processing especially crushing and grinding.
- Experience in heavy mining equipment like crushers and grinding mills is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze minerals process data and events in order to increase performance of the customers process.
- Ability to combine information from multiple sources and formulating a conception of the situation.
- A proactive and can-do attitude and good team-working capabilities.
- Excellent communication as well as coordination skills are needed in this role.
- Excellent language skills in Spanish and English. Portuguese is an advantage.
- Required technical skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and Windows
- Preferred technical skills on advanced process controls, CMMS and CMS systems, OPC, analysis tools such as multivariate statistical analysis tools, root cause analysis.
