Nature and Scope

• Responsible for all aspects of Machinery engineering design review, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and optimizations of machinery in China. The machinery includes all types of compressors, steam turbines, expanders, blowers, gearboxes, cooling towers, fin-fans and all types of pumps including cryogenic pumps.

• Provide machinery diagnostics services in troubleshooting and resolving machinery issues using vibration diagnostics tools and failure analysis techniques. This includes issuing failure analysis reports and cost effective recommendations for reliability improvements.

• Carry out turbo-machinery health and performance assessment and provide assessment reports to Operations & PTS teams on a quarterly basis.

• Drive Equipment Condition Monitoring (ECM) program and provide 2nd pass machinery diagnostics & troubleshooting and recommendations

• Develop machinery job-packs for large machinery overhauls.

• Facilitate root cause failure analysis investigations on machinery and provide RCA reports and follow-up on RCA recommendations till closure.

• Initiate and implement reliability and/or efficiency improvement initiatives and best practices on operating machinery.

• Lead the “bad actor resolution” program to resolve machinery bad actors, so as to increase reliability and machinery availability.

• Lead machinery reliability and productive initiatives to increase machinery reliability and reduce maintenance cost.

• Provide installation and commission support for new large machinery [ eg. Compressors, turbines, etc ]

• Provide technical support and supervision in the overhaul of large rotating machinery [ mainly compressors, blowers, turbines ].

• Provide fundamental machinery training and Machinery Basic Care Training to operation and maintenance personnel. Drive Ownership via Machinery Basic Care program.

• Provide technical support in the selection and review of new machinery for existing and new plants.

• Provide technical support in re-rate of existing machinery for plant optimization initiatives.

• Develop, implement, and/or maintain effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs for machinery.

• Focus on Safety for all aspects of work, from design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment.
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Minimum of 5 yrs of experience in rotating equipment machinery engineering and maintenance working in Air Separation Plants, Petrochemical Plants or Coal Gasification Plants.

• Technical knowledge in machinery design review, installation, commissioning and maintenance of large rotating equipments [eg. centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, steam turbines ].

• Familiar with American Petroleum Institute Standards pertaining machinery [ API610 – Centrifugal Pumps, API682 Mechanical Seals, API612 Steam Turbines, API618 Reciprocating Compressor, API686 Machinery Installation. ]

• Familiar with CGA-G4.7 Liquid Oxygen Pump, EIGA O2 Centrifugal Compressor and EIGA O2 Reciprocating Compressors.

• Experience in centrifugal compressor and steam turbine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting is essential.

• Experienced in large rotating equipment installation, support start-up and lead machinery commissioning.

• Familiar and well verse with machinery vibration diagnostics skills and machinery troubleshooting skills.

• Well verse with root cause analysis techniques.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills a must with the ability to work across culturally.

• Able to communicate in English ( basic spoken & written ) is helpful.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions required.

• Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal and communication skills are essential

• Willingness to travel within China to provide machinery support to existing and new plants.
