Job Description
As a Recruiter/Recruiting Specialist at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for providing consultation and counseling to hiring managers, external vendors, colleges, and universities. You will clarify recruiting best practices and constraints to hiring managers and ensure that applicants understand the details around compensation, interviews, and offers. You will maintain recruiting contacts and provide recommendations for company representatives visiting colleges and universities. You will be responsible for understanding the hiring managers head count needs and make sure there is alignment between headcount priorities for the department and the business needs. You will participate extensively in the sourcing, screening, and interviewing process of candidates. You will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of the company’s financial position, competitive landscape, and locations. You will be responsible for hiring team members by maintaining data in recruiting systems, extending and negotiating offers, initiating on-boarding, and finalizing the hiring process. An additional responsibility will be to participate in or lead recruiting projects that support the company’s involvement in ramps, mergers and acquisitions, etc. while focusing on continuous improvement of recruiting processes.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Consult and Counsel Recruiting Stakeholders
- Determine needs of hiring managers
- Assist hiring managers with understanding the best practices and constraints of the recruiting process
- Partner with external recruiting contacts and recruiting contacts to identify recruitment opportunities
- Partner with external vendors
- Provide recommendations for department representatives visiting colleges and universities for recruiting trips
- Counsel managers and candidates on employment law issues to minimize risk
- Maintain knowledge of HR practices, policies, rules, and regulations
- Develop business relationship with hiring manager
- Provide consultation on compensation, interviews, offers, and applicants
Collaborate to Determine Headcount Needs of Hiring Managers
- Work with HR Business Partner or budgeter to validate approved headcount
- Track headcount gaps and determine appropriate time to fill
- Align headcount priorities between departments to meet business needs
- Develop job profiles for positions being recruited
Source, Screen and Interview Candidates
- Maintain current knowledge of Micron’s financial position, competitive landscape, jobs, and locations to generate candidate interest and commitment
- Utilize sourcing tools to find potential candidates
- Develop internal and external networks
- Use strategic approach to locate and contact passive candidates, including cold calls
- Develop relationship with potential candidates and understand candidates’ priorities
- Coordinate Business Unit Interviews (phone, on-site)
- Evaluate candidate qualifications for fit (review resumes, phone screening, etc.)
- Develop recruiting strategy
Hire Team Members
- Maintain requisition and candidate data in recruiting related systems
- Reject non-qualifying candidates
- Extend and negotiate offers to candidates
- Close candidates
- Initiate on-boarding
- Finalize the hiring process (mobility, final hiring actions, visa paperwork)
Lead or Participate in Recruiting Projects
- Support the needs of ramps, acquisitions and other company activities
- Manage operational vendor support
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal recruiting processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or above in Human Resource, or related field of study.
- At Least 1 years’ experience in the Human Resource Management environment with a minimum of 3 years’ solid focus on recruitment and staffing in high-tech industry
- Experience in a matrix organization, knowledge on current external recruiting policies, practices and trends would be advantage.
Other Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy, both in English and Mandarin Chinese.
