Key Responsibilities
Design:
Translates a concept or principle into specific documents such as drawings and/or (3D) models. Uses both the Vanderlande tooling/design regulations and normative standards to do so. Takes costs and risks into account.
Works on technical solutions for complex functions, while respecting both Vanderlande standard solutions and innovative technologies.
Productizing:
Finalizes a design and its deliverables, according to our processes, in order to guarantee a smooth transition to the relevant stakeholders.
Verification (quality):
Uses the Product Development Guide, calculation methods, process map and available tooling to check his/her own output on Vanderlande quality requirements.
Validating (functional):
Consults stakeholders regularly to check on the progress of his/her work regarding required functionality in order to be effective and efficient.
Communication & planning:
Defines a planning for the work to be done, estimates the workload and lead time and communicates to relevant colleagues about changes and risks pro-actively. Adapts to changes and is solution oriented.
Collect & Share:
Continuously improves him-, or herself/ the department and or discipline and spreads the gained knowlegde and experience by means of distributing the learnings within the discipline, department and/or project.
Review:
Puts the company/department above the personal/business unit/project goals. Supports mobility and improves quality by means of reviewing the output of and consulting colleagues within the same discipline.
Design documentation:
Takes care of capturing and securing relevant design information in both internal and external documents.
Problem solving capability: Gives technical insights and knowledge regarding the application of products to solve the problem.
Discipline trends:
Keeps track of changes within the discipline and checks the opportunities for Vanderlande.
Technical conscience: Is capable of working on topics/issues on discipline level and exceeding the product level.

Required Qualification
？ Education background: Bachelor’s or Master degree in Engineering.
？ 3-5 years working experience in R&D or similar environment.
？ Languages: Fluent in both written and oral English, Mandarin is the same.
？ Prepared to travel 20%

Hard skills (Knowledge):

• Knowledge of customer processes in relevant market segments (Airports, Warehousing & Parcel)
• Knowledge of material handling systems on component.
• Knowledge of risk analyses (FMEA, DFMA, HSRA, …)
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly, production techniques & costs.
• Knowledge of calculations E.g. lifetime, bearings, belts, Motors.
• Knowledge of component/material(s) selection.
• Knowledge of Technical Construction Document / Architectural Design Document.
• Knowledge of Mean Time to Repair / Mean Time Between Failure / Lifetime calculations
• Knowledge of drawing standards.
• Knowledge of processes and relevant tooling E.g. SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of suppliers and Supply Chain implementation
