As a Quality & Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for customer supporting and installed base management globally, collecting and summarizing customer complain and cases, coordinating with different local and global departments to give a solution from both product quality and customer application point of view, in Motion Business Area in Beijing, China.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager I, you will bring out reliable solutions or improvements for the existing quality and reliability issues based on laboratory root cause analysis result. Evaluating and documenting all the finds for usage as supporting knowledge in the development of new products. Keep our products running in good quality and reliability.

Your responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing customer complain and cases, communicating with other departments, suppliers, and customers for collecting data and making further analysis, making systematically overview for issues and root cause analysis with existing tools
  • Managing installed bases, proactive implementation for improving product quality and preventing failures by information collection and root cause analysis
  • Cooperating with team members and other departments, defining the root cause for the existing issues based on all the analysis results, also give a clear solution for both customer and product quality
  • Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service
  • Identifying suggestions for product quality and reliability improvement based on the analysis results
  • Communicating the existing issue analysis and solutions in the ABB organization.
  • Providing technical specialist leadership and coordination for the field Service and production teams
  • Being ABB representative for quality aspects between ABB and customers

Your background

  • 2 years of experience preferably in PCBA analysis; (Be familiar with drives, especially for Medium Voltage drives preferred) Strong electrical engineering knowledge
  • Strong logical thinking and analytical skills, great passion on technical challenge and issues solving
  • Higher technical education (master’s degree in electric and electronics preferred)
  • Fluency in English skill both writing and speaking, especially on technical level
  • Good communication skills with different departments and customers
  • Accepting different kind of customer sites short-term travelling
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
