Job Description
Eaton’s Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions Division is seeking a Quality Improvement Technician for its Marina Power & Lighting operation in Williamsburg, VA. Position Overview: This Quality Improvement Technician is responsible for leading Williamsburg Eaton - Marina Power & Lighting quality control/ process improvement program. Collaborating with all functions to drive continuous improvements across the business through LEAN tool implementation, (e.g. lean six sigma, continuous improvement framework, 5S+, Kanban, Standard Work etc.) helping to meet and exceed business goals. Utilizing the business Quality performance to help drive significant operational improvements. Ensures that policies and procedures regarding all aspects of quality assurance and improvement are rigidly adhered to during all manufacturing processes. Ensure compliance to customer quality requirements and work with Engineering and the customer on quality issues reported in the field. Work on inspection, corrective action, returned materials, CQM, internal audit activity, and other documentation processes as needed for the operations. Continual focus on initiatives pertaining to Assembly Standard Work, CONC reduction, and change control. In this function you will: Ensure that the quality management systems are established, implemented, and maintained. Execute the quality strategy and assist in driving continuous improvements Responsible for coordinating all change control processes within the business. Managing the review, approval, and execution levels of all changes Manage monthly quality metric reporting (WISPER assessments). Engage in activities related to Quality, including 8D’s, Kaizen events, BPI’s, and other problem-solving activities driving immediate solutions. Manage all ISO document control processes per ISO-9001 requirements. Leading the Eaton Quality Management System, ELSS, & EBE as components of the EBS, including all assessments and processes. Support the deployment and implementation of specific initiatives aimed at improving Quality and Operational Excellence; promote continuous improvement activities. Lead the warranty review process and identify opportunities for reducing CONC. Collaborating with other functions divisional Quality teams and assisting with field campaign documentation Lead teams within the organization to implement significant process improvements and develop plans to meet future process needs. Apply knowledge of lean production systems to improve manufacturing process and meet manufacturing growth requirements. Lead efforts around Quality and OPEX training for all manufacturing personnel in support of impactful continuous improvement with metric performance. Perform product/process audits as well as internal quality audits. Team with engineering and suppliers for resolution of deviation, new product development (PROLaunch) Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Williamsburg, VA will be considered. Preferred qualifications: Good communication skills, written and verbal Good problem – solving skills Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing. Training, experience, and/or certification in problem solving tools and techniques (8D, corrective and preventive action, 5-why analysis, fishbone/ Ishikawa diagrams, error-proofing/ poka-yokes). Prior experience with ISO 9001-2015 Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
