As a Quality Control Specialist, you will act with safety, efficiency, quality and productivity to ensure that products and systems meet stated requirements, for Motion Business Area, in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will employ various test protocols and apply standards to ensure that good quality is maintained and assist in developing test protocols to investigate the integrity of new products, or new functionality for existing products.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing assistance to other functional teams to deploy incoming test protocols and to perform first article inspections
  • Ensuring that data are available according to ABB Quality & Operations guidelines
  • Utilizing safety systems to perform work, resulting in an accident-free workplace
  • Notifying others if unsafe situations are observed, and working with local Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) teams to improve safety systems
  • Working with others to improve test protocols and capability, creating greater efficiency, accuracy and reliability of test outcomes
  • Utilizing Lean 6 Sigma to collect, record, and evaluate quantitative metrics that provide descriptive data for the determination of compliance to requirements
  • Training machine operators in basic quality test routines to aid in quality-at-source processes, and verifying quality assurance testing

Your background

  • 5 years of experience in supplier quality management, in a multicultural environment, good diecasting, machining, and electrical parts supplier quality management experience in manufacturing industry, motor/generator industry are preferred
  • Good experience of problem solving and capable of leading and learning
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • A Bachelor or above, major in Mechanical Engineering or Production Technology
  • Fluency in English oral and written
