What you will do

In this vital role you will manage all aspects of a project: safety, quality, compliance, planning, cost, schedule, risk, communications, partner alignment, resource planning and management, team dynamics and performance, governance adherence, implementation, monitoring, completion, lessons learned, and follow-up.

  • Development and ongoing management of project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Development and maintenance of case information
  • Partnership with diverse, multi-functional sponsors, champions, authorities, team members, and vendors to implement projects through collaboration with multiple subject areas, including manufacturing, facilities, engineering, process development and quality assurance
  • Supervision of contingent workers as needed; these workers include construction managers and general craft labor including electrical, architectural, and mechanical
  • Daily on-site field presence when construction activities are in progress (safety meeting attendance, communication support, logistical coordination, etc.)
  • Project management of construction projects safely and compliantly, oftentimes within an operational GMP facility
  • Execution of projects in accordance with all corporate requirements, such as Environmental Health & Safety by Design
  • Presentation of projects to senior leadership at governing bodies for updates and approvals, as required

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Facilities or Engineering experience OR
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Facilities or Engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Facilities or Engineering experience OR
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Facilities or Engineering experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Facilities or Engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in project management methodology and tools (MS Project)
  • Be a standout colleague, and self-starter who is capable of growth and increased responsibility
  • Working knowledge of biotech DS manufacturing processes and the functions that support them
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multi-functional teams to advance complex projects to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and maintain positive relationships within multiple functional areas
  • Ability to tactfully and optimally negotiate and influence
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to all levels of staff, management, and internal and external partners
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic environment
  • Experience delivering engineering capital projects from initial design through construction to commissioning/qualification
  • Experience leading teams or organizations
  • Demonstrated ability in leading craft of wide skills and expertise (mechanical, electrical, and architectural)
  • Understanding of operational excellence, including continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Catalyst, etc.)
