JOB SUMMARY

Under the Dorel Sports strategic guidance, to lead the product development and assure new product speed to market with right quality and cost on time. Through cooperation, training, monitoring production schedule, process integrity, developing reliable supplier base and strong professional team to achieve headquarters’ and customers’ needs and expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for new product development (NPD), project management & quality control.

• Working with divisions to get final/approved product & package specifications and drawings.

n Responsible for vendor and division communication and coordination. Assure everyone is in the same page on project & product details

n Trouble shooting on product design, cost, quality issue and or time spend if any. Monitoring & controlling NPD progress and assure each mile stone completed on time with satisfactory result. Maintain NPD tracking report.

n Review pre-production samples with QC team. Assure quality team has updated spec. & sample is passing 3rd party lab testing prior to mass production.

n Responsibility includes 1st production approval and new product 1st order shipping on time.

n Work with suppliers and 2nd tier suppliers (parts makers) to resolve the delivery issue if any.

2. Lead supplier process optimization and continuous improvement.

3. Vendor performance assessment.

4. China local sales presentation coordination and host the consumer.

5. Market intelligence information collection - it includes material trend, China customs or government regulation update and competitors’ activities.

6. Other assignments required by supervisor.

REQUIREMENT

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

1. University and mechanical engineering major is preferable but not essential.

2. Min. 5 years working experience in bike or relevant industry. Familiar with bike and component manufacturing process and quality requirement.

3. With Quality or R&D background on bikes is a plus.

4. Solid project management experience.

SKILLS:

1. Strong inter & outer personal and communication skills

2. Good listener and strong analysis capability. Be able to capture key points and set up proper action plans.

3. Fluent in both written and oral English.

4. Adequate computer skills for Ms Office.
