Job Description

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor supervises manufacturing activities to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives while maintaining an outstanding safety record. This position handles labor resources, develops personnel, counsels employees, and prioritizes production schedules. This role will report to our Production Manager and have 15-20 direct reports. Ideally, we're looking for a people leader who understands that everyone has different skill sets and can change their management style according to the team's needs. Responsibilities: Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees Leads workforce by developing employees skills, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules/priorities Responsible for the safety, quality, and manufacturing KPI's of the assigned production unit Ensures adherence to defined manufacturing guidelines, processes, and procedures Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process Drives and proposes procedure improvements Leads and supervises assigned Production Technicians, Coordinators, and Assemblers Communicates and coordinates professionally and courteously with other departments and coworkers Problem-solving using creative solutions and soliciting ideas/solutions from the workforce. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: Needs advanced understanding of how to direct, monitor, supervise and develop the qualified workforce in a working team environment - Results-Oriented - ability to take actions and implement effective solutions promptly - Problem Solver - methodical and hands-on as well as detail-oriented Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills – a team player and builder, receptive to ideas from others. Shares information and keeps team members and partners advised. Works effectively with others to identify and resolve issues. The candidate must have professional written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact effectively as a leader for the facility and assigned production area. - Must possess solid digital literacy with self-directed learning of other applications - including all office applications and prefer experience using SAP Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required (Communications, Liberal Arts, Leadership Management, Business Administration, Organizational Communication) or equivalent combination of education and experience Two years spent in a Supervisory role/Team lead role preferred. Minimal travel required to our other manufacturing facilities in Marion, KY, and Pittsburgh, PA Why Siemens Mobility?
