Job Description:

This position is responsible to develop, implement, and sustain key processes, procedures and templates for the Supplier Development Engineering and Operational Excellence department within the Global Purchasing and Supplier Management function. 

Key Job Duties:

The role will be responsible for the optimization of both effectiveness and efficiency of key Supplier Development Engineering processes and standards, which include, but not limited to:     

  • APQP/PPAP - to deliver flaws launch of new products
  • Cost Improvement - cost recovery process and governance mechanisms, VA/VE workshops, etc.
  • Continuity of Supply Issue Resolution - process to identify, communicate, address, and monitor results after solutions implemented; address supplier-caused production interruption events, etc.
  • Proactive Risk Mitigation - process to proactively mitigate supplier-related production risks
  • Supplier Excellence - process to select suppliers, identify improvement projects, assess capabilities, develop/train as appropriate, execute improvements, monitor results, etc.
  • Supplier visit playbook - supplier process evaluation process, supplier kaizen workshops, etc.  

In addition to process development and implementation, the role will also be responsible to:  

  • Execute in key areas, such as: cost recovery, supplier improvement, and other key Supplier Development & Operational Excellence activities
  • Other duties and/or strategic initiatives, as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Expertise and working experience in following areas:  APQP, PPAP, Run at Rate, capability planning, cost recovery, FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, problem solving, quality systems, etc.
  • Experience in process development, implementation, and change management
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to be clear and concise; ability to simplify the complex; excellent presentation skills
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills; positive and encouraging attitude; ability to motivate and energize others; ability to coach and teach others
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to influence to drive decisions in timely manner, conflict management and resolution skills
  • Process orientated; ability to simplify processes/standards; ability to capture best practices
  • Strong understanding of problem solving, continuous improvement, and lean/six sigma methodologies
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; drives results with a sense of urgency to deliver commitments (speed)
  • Analytical and fact-based approach to problem solving
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years in Purchasing and Project Management experience
  • Minimum 2 years in areas of:  APQP, PPAP, Run at Rate, capability planning, cost recovery, FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, problem solving, quality systems, etc.
  • Experience in development and implementation of global processes and standards
  • Green/Black Belt certification, preferred  
  • Travel: 25%
