We are seeking a Process Intelligence Analyst in our Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters or Tampa, FL of remote in the US to join our Automation team to help drive productivity through the company leveraging technology to unlock opportunities to stop, optimize processes and then automate as appropriate

Key job responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate and champion of technology stack to help identify bottlenecks and driving conversations to help identify potential key issues or bottlenecks (process discovery, definition/mapping, visualization, cataloging, mining)
  • Leadership in defining technical and process improvements with many groups of business such as Finance, Accounting, Commercial, R&D and Information Systems and vendors to develop in more automated fashion
  • Process design techniques that identify solutions to make processes more efficient using stop, simplify, and automate (Process redesign, future-back thinking, clean-sheeting, design thinking) methodology.
  • Facilitate client workshops and meetings to understand client’s business processes, system data, and key process metrics.
  • The successful candidate will contribute to the success of business outcomes by making fundamental improvements in how data and information is managed, business processes are operated, physical workflow is directed to efficiently achieve the integration and orchestration of all activities required for product development.
  • Gain in-depth business domain knowledge, perform data modeling, facilitate, and document business requirements via client sessions and workshops for complex and multi-segment business processes, and help translate and communicate the requirements to the technical design and development team
  • Work closely with automation/software engineers, architects, and technical SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), to deliver optimized digital solutions and increase adoption
  • Responsible for managing key client relationships that are essential for the capability that this role will support.

A day in life:

  • You are leading from the front engaging with business functions across the company to identify bottlenecks in their business process using technologies and business analysis techniques
  • Partnering with other groups at Amgen and business partners to drive process improvements and identify opportunities
  • Working with a team of process engineers of internal staff and suppliers to drive these outcomes
  • Translate process automation opportunities once processes are optimized into requirement specifications to work closely with automation engineers
  • Provide demonstrations & articulate the significance of Process Mining, Task Mining and Process Modeling using data-driven, automated, visual tools (Celonis, UiPath Process Mining, ABBYY Timeline.)
  • Contribute to long term strategy to leverage technology to identify opportunities to unlock value

The Process Simplification and Automation team is part of the Digital technology and Innovation organization at Amgen that is focused on helping improve staff experience, unlock productivity and improving quality leveraging technology to identify inefficient processes, foster simplification of processes and help automate these revised processes to unlock value. This is a highly visible team with a remit to help shape the future pipeline of Amgen products by unlocking value

Minimum Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications

    Master’s degree and 3 years of process improvement experience

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of process improvement experience

    OR

    Associate’s degree and 10 years of process improvement experience

    Or

    High school diploma / GED and 12 years of process improvement experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Process Improvement expertise in at least one function such as Finance, Accounting, Commercial, HR, R&D or Operations
  • Ability to implement various process mapping and mining technologies such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Celonis, MIRO etc. to base line business area performance.
  • Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and management.  Demonstrate strong collaboration across all levels of the organization. Assertive and confident in raising action points with senior individuals with excellent spoken and written communication.
  • Ability to create detailed presentations and documents and present to all levels of the organization.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with automation and process intelligence software (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath, Celonis etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting business process analysis with business owners and SMEs across multiple geographically disbursed teams.
  • Strong experience in business analysis and process mapping
  • Continuous improvement mindset (i.e., LEAN, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies (such as Sprint and Scrum) and DevOps
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work cross-functionally in teams (internal and external)
