DSM Coating Resins (DCR) is a leading producer of polyester resins for powder coating industry. DCR has productions site in several countries in Europe, North America and Asia. The resins production takes place in batch reactors and is done in shift operation. Pingtung is a production site located in an industrial zone and has own utility (steam boiler, hot oil furnace).

Fills out the Safety Requirement Specification for a classified Mechanical, Instrumental and Procedural Safety Provision. Has a dialogue with the Designer in order to ensure the specification meets the requirements and all possible (cost-efficient) solutions have been explored.

Informs colleagues on other sites with similar potential risks in process safety

Aid Hazop chair to organize HAZOP review meeting. And prepare relative documents before meeting.

Maintenance and manage the change in DCS.

Exercise personal responsibility and co-operate in preventing harm to Electrical, Instrumental, Process control and Safety Instrumented systems, others and the environment.

Exercise personal responsibility and co-operate in achieving DCR Quality standard and Class A standards by being involved in the continuous improvement process

Develop the Control & Electrical project definition and scope in order that the overall business requirements are met.

Responsible for the design of electrical and instrumentation diagrams and functional specifications for the building of new and existing installations, using project scopes, standards and other technical documents

Development of software / hardware design documents (URS/SRS, FS, FDS) for 'process under control' and safety systems

Reach a formal agreement with legal entities for solutions to be implemented in order to meet legal compliance and regulations

Negotiate with contractors and suppliers in the discipline

Development and execution of test procedures (FAT and SAT) and commissioning/start-up activities

Develop, verify and implement Safety Instrumented Systems to reduce risk level 1,2,3

Develop Safety Instrumented Systems test procedures with minimal operational disturbance

Formal appointment of DSM corporate to perform a design and field verification of Safety Instrumented Systems within the BG Resins

See that contractors are carrying out correct execution of works and ensure that required precautions and company rules are being used

Employ monitoring procedures to ensure that appropriate Engineering standards, both technical and practical, meet the agreed business requirements

Ensure all project deliverables, drawings, documentation, test procedures) are being produced.

Develop technical competences and share with Improve plant (IP) and Operate (OP)

Look for the opportunities for innovation in the use of Control & Electrical Technology and implement solutions, which meet the agreed business objectives

Report on project status, and experiences of tests, measurements

Test and calibrate, set-up, install, configure software programs, testing protocols and records on PLC's, DCS system analysis and management.

Project wise approach and manage resources and tools to resolve main process disturbances or major failures related to E,I & Process control

Act as project manager for projects with main focus on Electrical, Instrumental, Process control and Safety Instrumented systems.

Manage Root Cause Analysis of process disturbances or major failures related to E, I & Process control

Self-motivated to propose to continuous improvement ideas, and take the initiative to participate in related activities and co-work with other teams in various roles (project member, leader, mentor ...), take proactive actions and use appropriate methods to identify opportunities for improvement. Undertake actions to improve the situation.
