Job Description
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Essential Functions of Principle Auto-Controlling Engineer:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary design team to prototype, develop and bring to market innovative robotic systems focused on outstanding customer experience, reliability and cost
- Lead architectural and electrical system design initiatives
- Design, evaluate and implement Electrical Engineering processes, tools and standards to optimize work and ensure high quality
- Design, test, and validate integration of custom or off-the-shelf electronics for a holistic system design solution, including; power electronics, sensors, motor controller and communication buses.
- Works with other functional team members (i.e. software, electrical, mechanical, reliability, manufacturing, service, quality, etc.) to resolve system / interface issues by evaluating overall systems performance / function.
- Monitor integration level testing under the support of V&V team.
- Manage communication and connection with Global BUs.
- Maintain awareness of medical robotic controlling technologies
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

30% of time on travel world widely will be required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
MS of Mechanical, EE, CS, Industry controlling, Automation, Mathematics. Or medical/surgical related areas.
Ph.D is desirable.
Experience:
- 5+ years of advanced graduate or professional hands-on experience desired in robotics or related fields, Experience developing controlling system of robotic preferred.
- Strong electrical hardware and system design / control system development related experience
- Technical experience (any of the following):
- Power electronics, analog and digital circuits, and motor driver systems
- Embedded sensing (e.g. motor position feedback, environmental sensing, imaging, temperature, acceleration, IoT etc.)
- Navigation & sensing (e.g. PACS assisted navigation,)
- Mechanical -Electronic system integration
- Experience transitioning designs from concept to schematic to printed circuit (PCB) implementation (Altium Designer experience preferred)
- Be familiar with ISO13485 required medical device development process. Be familiar to IEC 60601-1-2 and others is a plus
- Experience in designing, processing, testing and manufacturing of mechanical &electronic components/products and QMS for medical device.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Automation system design/ engineering / verification for medical device
- Broad technical experience across disciplines including electrical, mechanical, software and visualization, 3D VR/AR is a plus.
- Automatic control algorithm
- Familiar with robotics surgery related therapies, specialties and operation procedures
- Familiar with systems control methodologies focus on Medical Device..
- Working knowledge of risk management techniques. (i.e. Risk Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), etc.).
- Familiarity with ISO, Medical Device Directive, and other international medical device requirements and standards.
- know-how of manufacturing of medical equipment/instrument is a plus
- Fluency in English and Mandarin required, Good presentation skill is required
