Job Description
BNY Mellon Data and Analytics Solutions is a public- and private-cloud-based software and content offering that builds client-centric data, technology, and content capabilities. Operating with the skill and agility of a fintech, Data and Analytics Solutions combines the expertise and resources of the Eagle product suite, Intermediary Analytics, and other BNY Mellon technology and data assets. Moreover, the division further extends BNY Mellon’s Asset Servicing capabilities in securities and cash into the world’s most important asset class, data. Data and Analytics Solutions helps firms to analyze their data from different vantage points and transform it into actions that can achieve higher alpha and cheaper beta, with lower costs and less risk. Offering an ecosystem of proprietary and third-party business applications, Data and Analytics Solutions helps firms manage their core investment processes and beyond.

The Data and Analytics Business Manager is the “Owner” of the end-to-end relationship for BNYM Data and Analytics Solutions strategic clients.  The Business Manager is responsible for achieving sales quota and strategic account plan objectives.  He/She is an experienced leader who has the “sphere of influence” to bring the entire BNYM organization to these strategic clients in order to drive Data and Analytics Solutions portfolio of product and services.


Responsibilities


Define, measure, and grow accounts through development of client account plans for the following intervals:   6 to 12 months, 1 year and 3 years.


Coordinates the involvement of company personnel (sales, global support, professional services, prod management etc.) and senior management resources to meet account performance objectives and client expectations. 


Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.


Provide the comprehensive and authoritative view of the client and creates corporate and customer strategy at the highest levels of the organization to maximize customer retention and profitability.


Work with finance and operations teams to establish metrics for defining client profitability.


Facilitate the development of the accountability action chain, establishing the approaches and implementation of research to understand customer loyalty and return on investment (ROI).


Decide where to make investment decisions with the highest-impact, contacts and efforts.


Develop expertise in the business needs and objectives of assigned clients. Build strong relationships with individuals at varying levels at each client firm. 

Act as escalation point for all client-related issues both internally at Data and Analytics Solutions as well as externally with the client and any third parties involved.


Proactively add value and improve the client’s perception of Data and Analytics Solutions products, through understanding their business needs and making recommendations for process improvements. 


Show client value proposition of staying current with software.

Manage smooth progression of our clients from prospect phase to implementation phase to production support phase.


Assess risk levels for assigned clients and develop action plans for client retention. 


Own current client color updates using full knowledge of client relationship status. 

Engage in early stages of client lifecycle to share ownership of key implementation decisions; influence decisions with an eye towards long-term client success.  


Owns and executes sales process:

Identify and execute cross sell/up sell opportunities.

Recommend and contribute to pricing decisions.

   Proactively identify opportunities to increase client satisfaction and overall       value of Data and Analytics Solutions suite (training, new projects, managed/professional services, etc). 


Identify and align with broader BNYM products and services to solve client’s business problems (ex: Custody)


Contribute to BNYM Global Strategic Account Plans as applicable.


Provide regular updates to BNYM Data and Analytics Solutions Sr Management 










Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Financial Services experience with a particular client type or product (Hedge, Pension, etc.) preferred as is prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services or Account Management. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. As global firm, bi-lingual capabilities are helpful as is an understanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.
