About the job
Join a multidisciplinary team of experts utilizing JavaScript running all over the internet and other internet scale datasets to identify, measure and block bots activity. We are looking both for people who will connect the dots to find sophisticated botnets, and for people that will research and implement low level signals for bots identification.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with data scientists, engineers and other security researchers to identify, track and block bots and ad fraud operations.
• Lead in-depth research into large botnets and ad fraud operations using huge amounts of data.
• Invent, research and evaluate new signals (from low level fingerprinting to high level suspicious behaviors) for bots and ad fraud detection.
Requirements
• Passionate about researching and identifying bots, stopping cybercriminals and protecting the internet.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas\: cybersecurity, fraud or bot detection, browser/OS fingerprinting, data science and analysis.
• Relevant working experience or excellent B.Sc. in Computer Science or relevant fields.
• Understanding of web architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DOM, JavaScript, DNS, etc.).
• Proficient in SQL or data processing frameworks (Spark, Pandas, R data frame).
Advantage points\:
• Strong software engineering and algorithmic background, with experience in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Deep understanding of the ad tech industry\: where and how the money flows from advertisers to sites/apps owners.
• Proficiency in Spark or other big data frameworks (Hive, Presto, Pig, MR).
• Knowledge of statistics fundamentals.
• M.Sc. / Ph.D in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics or relevant fields.
Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.
