Cloud Platform Architect – Public Sector, Canberra
A Cloud Platform Architect is an important role in our Cloud Platform Group with a focus on Public Sector accounts. This role is based in Canberra.
You will work closely with Cloud Platform Sales, depending on each case, to develop new business and position Oracle’s Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions at important public sector accounts, including Federal, State and Local.
The goal of the Cloud Platform Architect is to be front and centre in our customer’s transformation to a cloud-based architecture. Oracle Cloud Platform Architects bridge the gap between business and technology – taking a strategic view of customer architectures and a broad view of Oracle solutions. They combine a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry best practices, business processes and architectural patterns to drive IT transformation initiatives that meet the business objectives of our Public Sector customers.
Proactively engage on high potential Public Sector accounts\:
Engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
Identify public sector customer use cases & workloads to move to the Oracle Cloud Platform.
Design a technical Oracle Cloud architecture for these workloads.
Develop a migration approach to lift and shift workloads.
Present a compelling case for Oracle’s Cloud offerings.
Provide thought leadership & innovation\:
Document and share Cloud best practise within the Oracle ecosystem.
Participate in Industry marketing events as Oracle Cloud Evangelists.
Promote Oracle Cloud solutions with Oracle Partners.
Develop Oracle Cloud specific solutions & content to support sales engagements.
Role & Responsibilities\:
Customer facing role representing Oracle’s Cloud Platform solutions including ADW, iPaaS, aPaaS, IaaS, Security, IoT, Big Data, BI and Blockchain.
To understand the customers applications and technical architecture and to be able to identify suitable use cases & workloads to move to the Oracle Cloud Platform.
Develop a technical and security architecture and business feasibility proposal for moving identified workloads to the Oracle Cloud Platform.
Present technical and business value discussions of the Oracle Cloud Platform offerings to senior customer executives.
Lead the design of the technical architecture for proposed solutions including supporting RFx bid responses and proof-of-concepts and to collaborate closely with Oracle SC Specialists, CSM’s & Partners to develop end to end solutions.
Document and share best practise within the Oracle ecosystem.
Maintain extensive knowledge of Oracle’s Cloud Platform products, Cloud operations, privacy and security frameworks, commercial frameworks, roadmaps, competitor’s products and emerging cloud computing technologies.
Ideal Candidates will be seasoned senior level professionals who not only possess deep experience with technology transformation but also significant experience in Cloud and ideally public sector accounts. Security clearance is an advantage.
!|!Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
