Job Description
OMNI Digital Services Implementation Architecture team delivers services in three areas: Client Architecture Strategy; Business Data Architecture; and, Architecture Execution. We meet clients at the intersection of consulting and technology, theory and practice. Our Architecture Strategy team will work with you to align Data & Analytics products, other BNYM products and third party products with your existing and future application landscape. They’ll help design the future state that meets your needs while applying our best practices. Our Business Data Architecture team has years of financial services experience and knows industry data while applying modern data science techniques. Lastly, our Architecture Execution team can provide implementation development, peer programming and training. BNY Mellon’s Data and Analytics Solutions further extends our Asset Servicing capabilities into the world’s most important ‘asset class,’ data. As a software and content business, inclusive of Eagle data management, accounting, and performance products and Intermediary Analytics’ sales and distribution data, the offering also includes a suite of new cloud-based products. This role has a unique opportunity to engage with our clients to help them design and deliver on their technology strategy using our suite of current market applications and upcoming cloud based technology offerings. An ecosystem of proprietary and third-party business applications are available to help firms manage their core investment process and beyond. This role will also have an opportunity to engage directly with the teams that are designing our cloud based product suite and integration tools. They will have an opportunity to represent the organization in client engagements as a thought leader in the area of Data Management and Technology. The ideal candidate would be required to design and formulate implementation recommendations to help clients solve complex business problems. They will also be required to oversee a wide range of client strategic technology projects. Experience in utilizing comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve project objectives is required. Bachelor's degree in business or a related technology discipline, or equivalent work experience required. An advanced degree is preferred along with 10-12 years of related experience in the financial services industry. This role will work closely with internal business partners and external service providers to ensure that services are aligned with the business objectives. The position requires the ability to balance multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining an enterprise-wide view. The position will require a proven track record of delivering operational excellence for mission critical 24x7 operations utilizing best practices and managed services. The role is a part of a high performing team in a fast-paced organization, requiring customer and business focus and demonstrated skills tied to leadership, people, communication, analytics and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: This individual will be representing business and technical teams in the development of new business opportunities and then following that up with implementation of those programs. Fluency in financial products and terminology to positively impact implementation results. The individual will be providing support to OMNI Digital Services in the following capacity: 10% support of new large-scale business opportunities (sales) 70% contribution to best practices and provide technical expertise to large-scale and visible engagements from project inception to conclusion, overseeing planning, deliverables, and production transition 20% promotion and contribution to the firm visions of technology strategy within the implementation group. Meet regularly with customers/clients with the purpose of: Gaining knowledge about current issues, current projects, and future projects Providing technology guidance to customers/clients for these identified issues and projects Projecting positive advocacy for the Eagle Platform Helping to drive technology decisions that are in line with current BNY Mellon Platform direction Provide best practice knowledge within design review sessions. Evangelize solutions that align with product roadmap and firm investments. Collaborate with cross organizational teams to ensure a high valued client experience with Eagle products. Provide Sr. Management updates on client initiatives and status. Contribute in a meaningful way to strategic initiatives that improve the organization (e.g., contributing to QA standards, participating in seminars and presentations, participating in governance bodies, etc.). This individual may have global counterparts and should be experienced working with both on-shore and off-shore teams. Travel is required (25%-40% is common) to work with new business opportunities and existing customers. International travel may also be required from time to time. Qualifications: Experience in either an engineering or architecture role with a passion for technology Strong Application Development skills and experience. Deep understanding of technologies that are leveraged by scalable SAAS and PAAS companies Must possess excellent technical and analytical skills and be able to work and communicate effectively with senior management and executive committees Demonstrated track record of contributing successfully to the delivery of large and visible high quality projects. Strong written communication skills and be capable of providing quality documentation and be comfortable presenting to technical and business audiences of all levels Experience working with data modeling, data integration, messaging and API technologies, at scale. Expertise in architecting, supporting and managing critical applications that require a large Oracle RDBMS platform Strong understanding of the architecture technologies common in financial markets. Must possess degree educated in a science discipline and must be genuinely interested in the core technologies that underpin modern software development (Computer Science/Computer Engineering degree preferred). Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience. Securities, financial products and/or the finance industry experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
