We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for a project about jumping spiders’ sexual selection and parental care. The position will span Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (PI Zhanqi Chen) and Tibet University, Tibet, China, and will integrate the fields of traditional behavioral experiments, ecology and behavioral neuroendocrinology. Laboratory of Arthropod Behavior and Ecology (ABE) is a new established lab with focused on behavioral studies of Arthropods, including sexual selection, parental care, cognition and social behaviors. These studies are trying to answer the questions of what strategies animals are using for reproduction success? What benefits they could achieve from a specific reproduction strategy? and how these strategies are evolved and why they have to be evolved? what are the interactions between animal reproduction strategies and their living environmental factors? The studies are not limited to any clade of Arthropods.

Qualifications

Ph.D. required. Applicants with strong spider behavioral study background are especially encouraged to apply.

Salary: 15,000.0元 to 30,000.0元 /month
