Job Description
As the trusted partner for the development and extension of an efficient and reliable power infrastructure, Digital Grid offers utilities and the industry the portfolio they need. This includes facilities and systems for the low-voltage and distribution power grid level, smart grid and energy automation solutions, power supply for industrial plants, and high-voltage transmission systems. We are currently looking for a Sales Consultant to join our Digital Grid team based in Sydney, NSW or Brisbane, QLD. You will be responsible for the promotion of Siemens protection and SCADA solutions, identifying new market requirements (micro grids, remote monitoring, and diagnostics) and developing technical and commercial proposals in line with customer requirements. Your other key responsibilities include: • Visit internal and external customers to develop business opportunities for Digital Grid Business Unit in NSW and QLD. • Leverage technical solutions for Protection, Control, Communication and SCADA Systems, including also new market trends like MicroGrids, BESS, Remote Monitoring, Remote Maintenance, etc. • Detect local market requirements and leverage technical solutions in contact with other Business Units, Business Segments and Headquarters • Write solution specifications and develop operation philosophies to enforce Siemens position in selling process • Understand and clarify customer requirements, driving those expectations into Siemens technical concepts and expertise’s • Create market demand for our solution, including develop and present to customers and possible stakeholders our solution business cases, including financial aspects like ROI, CAPEx vs. OPEX, etc. • Prepare offers, including cost calculations, and define delivery concepts of our solutions • Supports Sales organization in approaching and serving potential customers best with options of using DG products and solutions in customers products • Constantly analyses product portfolio of the dedicated customers • Checks with developers, Project Managers and Management on customers side options to integrate DG products and solutions • Creates respective technical and commercial concepts and offerings, to support the sales process • Plans and completes consulting assignments to industry partners, on technical and commercial level • Support BU organization in contract negotiations at all stages, with information and analyses In order to considered for this role, it is likely that you will have 5 years’ of experience in a sales environment in the field of Protection systems / Substation Automation solutions, a Bachelor of Engineering degree, experience in bid preparation / tenders in the field of protection systems / substation automation solutions. If you have experience in the field of engineering of Protection systems / Substation Automation systems/substation design/protection & SCADA systems FAT/ protection & SCADA commissioning, and developing a go to market strategy for new products or solution offerings in the field of protection systems / substation automation solutions for Microgrids or standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems we would find this highly desirable, but not essential.
