Job Title / Role: Portfolio Consulting Professional SI EP Organization: Lead Country South Africa Location: Midrand, South Africa Reporting Manager: Country Business Unit Head SI EP The Business The Smart Infrastructure Division offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated hardware, software and technology-based services to support infrastructure and industrial companies worldwide, in enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of their production processes, and in turn reducing the time to market of their products. Smart Infrastructure (SI) was set up by Siemens to address the Electrification segment along the lines of Infrastructure in particular. SI EP within SI is wholly responsible for the Low Voltage Portfolio of SI Role Headline A Portfolio Consulting Professional within the SI EP Business Unit is expected to provide deep technical knowledge on the entire Low Voltage Switchgear portfolio. He/she is also expected to provide guidance, support and technical advice, to both the sales organization and customers, on capabilities, options and how to use and integrate Siemens products into Automation systems, namely Low Voltage Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Intelligent Motor Protection, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, overloads, PLC's, I/O, VSD's, Soft Starters, ACB's, HMI's, SCADA etc. Responsibilities of the Role - Perform long range strategic planning, analysis and prepare summaries, and/or perform operational activities enabling the exploitation of opportunities in Infrastructure segments - Drive Siemens presence at Consultants, Architects, EPCs and Contractors in Infrastructure - Be responsible for awareness creation at the above-mentioned customer groups, driving specification to include Siemens SINOVA as a product of choice - Establish a SINOVA Partner / Distributor network serving the Infrastructure segments - Generate and lead bid opportunities utilising your area of expertise that may be bid and sold to contribute to a strong Sales pipeline and facilitate meeting our sales targets, using knowledge of the industry and customers resulting in substantial sales funnel - Perform project coordination in assigned projects and supply information for the development of new strategies by ensuring an effective transfer from acquisition and sales, to project implementation - Complete market and business research as well as competitor analysis in relation to the SINOVA Product Portfolio - Focus on the entire LC-ZA bundle covering the SADC, East and West Africa - Extensive travel into the above-mentioned regions will be required - Develop a framework together with IAA (India, ASEAN and Africa) Regional Management - Drive implementation of the framework in South Africa and on the African Continent - Appoint Infrastructure Partners using the Siemens Partner Management tools such as Partner Development Plans, Onboarding assessment tools, SieSales, Revenue tracking, etc. - In addition, Support the DI Sales organization in approaching and convincing potential customers on the benefits of choosing Siemens, provide support on integration of the Siemens range of control devices into the customers new/existing Automation system - Provide customers with expert advice on correct selection of devices for customers application - Engagement with Siemens Global Product Management regarding possible improvements, provision of professional input with new product development as well as engagement regarding possible issues in need of resolution - Responsible for a Go-to-market strategy for the Portfolio covering but not limited to: advertising, promotion, price positioning, channel placement, stocking models, market development, market penetration, value-add selling, training and development of the Sales team etc. - Develop and support the Panel Builder Partner model by providing training, support, guidance and driving specification across all channels which feed into the Panel Builders - Responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities through engaging with End users, Partners, Channels, EPC/Ms, Consultants etc. - Ensuring specification on all of the above-mentioned levels - Control discounts levels on offers ensuring that the businesses profitability targets are met - Work with the rest of the SI EP Team to ensure top-line Order and Revenue targets are met - Monthly reporting on activities, volume development, strategy, tactics and proposed call plan for the month to follow - Responsible for creating a complete business strategy for your respective area of responsibility Qualifications and Experience - Relevant B.Tech Degree Electrical Engineering (LC) or National Diploma in Engineering - In addition to the above, a Marketing Diploma or Degree would prove advantageous - 3-5 years relevant sales experience selling Low Voltage Switchgear, Drives and Automation, preferably within the following sectors: - Mining Sector, WWW, F&B, OEM, SBM, System Integrators - Must have a deep understanding of the Low Voltage Switchgear portfolio, as well as SIVACON S8 - It is preferred that the applicant has established relationships with consultants and EPCs, however this is not mandatory - Must have a valid Drivers License and be willing to travel extensively Attributes and skills - Candidate to have an excellent knowledge of the Siemens range of Low Voltage Switchgear range including but not limited to: ACBs, MCBs, MCCBs, Overloads, Contactors, Relays etc - Candidate to have an excellent understanding of the IEC standards applicable to Motor Control Centers and Integrated Control Panels - Candidate has to be able to put together a complete solution in response to customers motor protection requirements, as well as solutions pertaining to Electrical Distribution - Performs site surveys to develop base design or installation plans - Analyzes customers' technical setup in order to better judge on aspects of product and solution integration. - Completes technical analyses and supports proposal process at any stage as part of the sales team - Performs the review of task plans, drawings and installation schematics and provides guidance in the phase of product test integration. - Performs the review of task plans, drawings and installation schematics and provides Product selection guidance in the phase of putting together a bill of materials. - May support completion of service contracts (i.e. planning and estimation of labor categories, rates, material cost, etc.). - Candidate to have excellent customer interaction skills - May manage respective sub-contractors Personal Attributes: -
