Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Legal responsibility ensuring that all functions meet all requirements. Developing control mechanisms to ensure compliance
- Legally responsible for all products shipped from the site
- Establishes one identity for the site, facilities and pushes for cross-function alignment
- Establishes standards and ensure aligned governance model
- Responsible for keeping a common view, e.g. on compensations & benefits
- Overall responsible for the site being in good order, maintaining a clean and safe plant
- Responsible for ensuring cascading relevant company information to all employees
- Representing the company as the official spokesman and making sure that all employees within the site are in agreement and work according to company policies and code of conduct
- Establish and maintain a positive community relationship; represent site to local authorities and maintain good relationship. External representation, guidance of visitors
- Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
- Establish and direct plant policies, strategy, procedures, establish objectives, targets and action for the site in accordance with the overall objectives of Baxter
- Secure site operations within approved budget and product specification and in compliance with local regulations including GMP- and environmental as well as GRP policy and guidelines
- Responsibility for product and overall site quality. Establish and maintain high quality standard of products in line with GRP and local requirements
- Ensure execution of the plant quality management system including documentation and implementation of all relevant quality systems procedures and instructions throughout Plant and establishment of effective management controls in compliance to all relevant regulations/regulatory agencies
- Budget/Financial – is responsible for his/her budget and presents actual results, forecasts and variances to management; financial signing authority in accordance with established regulations
- Establish a functional and efficient site organization and continuous adaptation to the changing environment. Ensure mindset of continuous improvement
- Responsible for appropriate plant staffing and personnel management / development. Hiring and release of employees according to Baxter policy
- Coordinate with groups such as maintenance, production, quality and procurement to develop, implement and monitor plans to improve site productivity
- Select and train plan supervisory and administrative staff; conduct employee performance reviews and give direct feedback
- Schedule and conduct plant meetings
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership skills; position requires demonstrated effective leadership, managerial and planning skills
- Demonstrates a positive, non- confrontive, proactive approach to problem solving and impediments, mentors others to understand and model this approach. Constructive and relentless in pursuit of solutions. Motivates others to do the same
- Requires an exceptional understanding in the disciplines of Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Supplier Quality Management, Materials Planning, Customer/Product Technical Support and Training and -most important – General Manufacturing Operations experience and -organization
- Demonstrated skills in planning, budgeting and project management directed toward achievement of business goals. Requires strong understanding of financial performance and reports
- Technical knowledge in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device field (normally acquired through a bachelor degree or master in Pharmacy Pharmaceutical chemistry or organic / inorganic chemistry); also requires working knowledge of the business’ products and therapy use
- Requires understanding of quality management techniques and experience in developing quality goals and measures and directing others, including suppliers
- Very good knowledge about the entire value chain; development, buy, suppliers, production, logistics, technical service and market/sale
- Demonstrated skills in developing, coaching and training others
- Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication in his/her mother tongue as well as in English
- Excellent presentation skills
- Willingness to travel as required
