Salary: $434 per hour (Contract Period: 1 year) (Required to work around 16 hours per week)
Duties : (a) To formulate and render on-site school-based professional support service to secondary schools in respect of school-based curriculum development in (i) Personal, Social and Humanities Education, Liberal Studies, and Catering for Learner Diversity; or (ii) Mathematics Education and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education; and to develop school-based curricula, invigorate curriculum leadership, explore effective pedagogical measures, and promote collaborative and sharing culture within school; (b) To assist in organising professional networking activities for (a)(i) and (a)(ii), tasked to complement the provision of on-site support and to engender cross-schools collegial sharing and professional exchanges; (c) To assist in organising territory-wide sharing sessions for disseminating effective practices; and (d) To conceptualise effective practices on support service of (a)(i) and (a)(ii), for knowledge generation, such as tasks of writing reports, analysis on yearend evaluation report, cases of school-based curriculum development and reflections on support services.
Entry Requirements : (a) A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree in subjects relevant to History, Economics, Geography, Chinese History, Mathematics or Mathematics Education, or equivalent [See Remarks (i) and (iii)]; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; (c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Remarks (ii)]; (d) At least 6 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and/or with relevant curriculum development experience at secondary levels [See Remarks (iv)]; (e) Good knowledge of the local education system and the curriculum reform; and (f) Candidates may be required to take a written test on the day of selection interview.
Remarks for Post:
(i)Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a Master / PhD degree) should include details in their applications.
(ii)For appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(iii)For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor’s degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor’s degree in the relevant subjects is acceptable.
