Salary : $439 per hour (Contract Period : 1 year) (Required to work 16 hours per week)
Duties : (a) To support the curricula relating to Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) Key Learning Area (KLA), in particular the newly revised History Curriculum (S1-3) implemented in this school year; (b) to support the dissemination of the above curricula, including the production of curriculum resource materials; (c) to review textbooks and related resource materials; (d) to assist in developing learning networks for History teachers to try out the learning and teaching materials, facilitate professional dialogues between networked schools, and share experiences and good practices in curriculum development and implementation to schools; (e) to assist in organising teacher development programmes in support of the implementation of the above curricula; and (f) to undertake any other duties as assigned.
Entry Requirements : (a) A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree, majoring in History, or equivalent; and a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (i)]; (b) Preference will be given to candidates who possess a higher degree related to history and / or curriculum development and / or educational management, or equivalent; (c) At least 6 years’ relevant post-qualification [as specified in (a)] experience in teaching History and/or developing curriculum and resources for the History subject [See Note (ii)]; (d) Possess sound knowledge in the area of history education in the Personal, Social and Humanities Education Key Learning Area and local education system; and (e) High level of awareness of current trends in local and international history education and humanities education.
