JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized PR Manager with interest in work in a very fast paced environment that is of the e-commerce business in China combined in a multi-brand retailing environment where we will be working with many brands.

The role also requires someone with strong organizational skills and leadership to organize PR events and other offline events for the NET-A-PORTER brand and to insure all our events are “on brand.”

This will be a challenging role and needs someone who is always two-steps ahead. A sound knowledge and experience within the luxury fashion industry is essential, creative and entrepreneurial mind set and interest in business

The role reports directly to the Yoox Net-A-Porter Group China General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PR & event plan execution

  • Work closely with marketing team in developing and implementing annual PR plans
  • Creates comprehensive action plans that support all Communications concepts with the aim to maximize brand and (new) product exposure while maximizing efficiencies
  • Develop and execute PR campaigns based on the needs of brand together with marketing team.
  • Develops rollout plans that are in line with agreed objective and time frame.
Media relationship & publication management
  • Develop long term and short term strategies and tactics to nurture key media relations,
  • Continuous development of press contacts to journalists, editors, freelancers to guarantee a growth positive report to the brand, PR core message & star products
  • Maintain a healthy media database including local Chinese digital new outlets
  • Maximize brand exposure in major press coverage and also self-maintained media relationship, and also maintaining right brand image
  • Plan and implement press related events, press tours
  • Monitor media, Ad / PR agencies and 3rd party suppliers to ensure brand presentation align with brand standard
PR content development
  • Work with close media friends & PR agency to find the proper communication angle
  • Oversee and edit Chinese translation of press releases, speeches, editorial write-up & press materials development according to global brand guideline and PR strategy
  • Initiate and execute the special editorial projects
Event plan & management
  • Identify and explore joint promotion opportunities with external partners, relevant brands, and media
  • Be proactive and creative in proposing new ideas and opportunities of event programs to General Manager
  • Work closely with event agency on creation, performance proposal, launch moment proposal, gift proposal, event rundown, onsite schedule, check list, MC script, 2D & 3D design etc to make sure the whole event goes smoothly and successfully
  • Control the quality of all events by monitoring the operation details
Budget & cost control
  • Source, evaluate, recommend and manage various suppliers to ensure that needs objectives are effectively achieved at the best possible price.
  • Up-to-date tracking the expense and accruals with supporting document
Others
  • Build strong cross functional relationships within the organization
  • Any other duties/matters may be assigned from time to time

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in PR function, capacity in a related business or brand, international luxury brand experience a plus.
  • With experience in writing / reviewing PR releases, familiarity with various types of media works.
  • Team-oriented & collaborative with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships across multiple levels & influence business decisions with internal & external partners.
  • Strong analytical & computer skills (MS Office) required.
  • Highly organized & proactive with strong ownership & passion for the brand.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-worker, people-oriented, commercially minded, committed, passionate.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese
