What You Will Be A Part Of:

This role is part of the Corporate Infrastructure & Security (CIS) team and is responsible for infrastructure, IT employee experience, and cybersecurity program management efforts with a focus on practical process improvement (PPI/Lean) transformation and successful implementation of programs. The main focus of this role will be to help build and drive the PPI strategy within the CIS while partnering with other PPI advocates across the Thermo Fisher Enterprise.

What You Will Do:

  • Practical Process Improvement (PPI/Lean)
    • Partner with Thermo Fisher PPI teams to implement strategic plans for CIS PPI transformation
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve CIS customer allegiance, quality, and productivity
    • Identify opportunities to drive ROI, productivity, and enhanced value across CIS processes
    • Leverage, train, and enforce standard work within CIS following the PPI Business System (Lean deployment)
    • Drive best practice processes with colleagues focused on KPI continuous improvement
    • Act as the voice of PPI as role-model leader in CIS. Proactively communicate the benefit of PPI Business System to colleagues in the organization.
  • Project Management
    • Successfully lead large and complex projects for CIS
    • Lead the detailed planning and management of projects through to completion
    • Escalate, explain, and offer proactive solutions when risks/issues to projects are causing failure or inability to complete on time or budget.
    • Continuously improve processes, tasks, and milestones using feedback and lessons learned as input into existing or future project plans
    • Ensure project milestones and targets are met by actively managing projects on a day to day basis through appropriate resource, issue, and risk management
    • Assist or lead the development of business requirements, solution design & delivery, testing and training
    • Follow defined project management framework and corporate processes to execute projects ensuring compliance with all deliverables and stage gate reviews
    • Maintain the appropriate metrics related to project activities and submit in accordance with required procedures
    • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
    • Conduct project closeouts and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How You Will Get Here:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Project Management
  • PMP certification or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience with program & project management
  • 5+ years’ experience lean business implementation/transformation
  • 5+ years’ experience in vendor management
  • Experience in running large global information technology projects
  • Knowledge and experience working with complex spreadsheets and data analysis processes
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group: executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Experience in building, selling, and implementing strategic plans
  • The ability to independently work through activities and projects
