• Have anenthusiastic and positive attitude towards PE & swimming.

• Inspire confidenceand motivate children.

• Demonstrateperseverance and patience.

• Understand how todifferentiate in a coaching session.

• Provide anenvironment in which the children feel safe, confident and happy to learn.

• Identifyparticipants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.

• Provideexplanations and demonstrations.

• Correct faults inphysical performance and identify ways to improve.

General Duties

• Ensure thatchildren are not left unsupervised in the pool or changing area.

• Insist on goodlevels of behaviour at all times.

• Serve as a rolemodel to the children in terms of behaviour, dress, attitude and manners.

• Support PE &swimming lessons and the Extra Curricular Activities programme from Early Yearsthrough to Senior School.

• Be available toattend and participate in extra-curricular events and competitions, includingweekends on occasion.

• Actively support theethos of the school.

• To be a positiverole model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate andencourage children to participate in PE & swimming.

• Ensure safeprovision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.

• Make sure safetystandards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments.
  

Requirements

• Possess skills and/or qualifications relevant to the position of a PE & swimming assistant.

• Have a reasonablelevel of spoken English.

• Make a positivecontribution to the development of the School.

• Life Guard & Swimming Coach certificates are must.
